More Festival Success

Following from the Royalty Theatre’s winning of the Championship Trophy at last year’s Durham and Sunderland One-Act Festival, the second instalment of the festival has brought more success for the theatre.

Alex Goodchild came away with the Best Actor award for his performance in Jesu Mercy.  Written by Helen Bowie and starring James Errington alongside Alex, the play debuted at the Royalty last November and was praised for its highly emotional and thought-provoking content.

Alex, pictured in costume, has been a regular fixture at the Royalty for several years, having been part of the Royalty Theatre Youth Academy.  His talent and professionalism allowed him to very quickly achieve some major roles, such as poet Percy Shelley in Mary Shelley, the tragic Jack Kipling in My Boy Jack, and Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas in The Judas Kiss.

Alex will once again grace the Royalty stage later this month, when he appears in the much-anticipated Dial M for Murder, running from 18th to 23rd March. Tickets can be bought here.
